Board of Health · Meeting of July 21, 2026
Hardwick Board of Health backs $30 million UMass rural health bid. Chair John S. Mott and Vice Chair Richard Romano serve on an advisory panel for the regional push, which would fund mobile clinics, remote monitoring and a dedicated community health worker across 10 towns at no direct cost to Hardwick.
A consultant identified as Dr. Allen told the board, "I cannot believe how slow this state is," describing Massachusetts' sluggish rollout of its $162 million share of the federal program. The board also voted to schedule a Sept. 3 public hearing on draft green burial regulations and heard from resident Alan Jubert, who said the town has been "kicking this can for six years" over an abandoned property with more than $9,575 in unpaid liens.
The board deferred a cooling-center policy review to a July 30 department head meeting.
